Judith’s work is inspired by nature in all its forms; from a close-up of a flower petal to paintings of birds in highly decorative backgrounds. She has recently become interested in the symbolism of things and has incorporated these references into her paintings using the written word. Colour is an important part of her work and she paints vibrant, richly coloured canvasses portraying the dramatic impact of form, colour, texture and scale which become apparent when observing a flower or plant at close-range. The ‘Flower’ series of paintings features close-range images on dark backgrounds which emphasise their energy and strength.
