'The Empire Bed Warmer' — Antique Copper Table Lamp

The base is a genuine Wafax copper and brass domed bed warmer from the early 1900s: the kind of object that once sat at the foot of a bed on a cold Edwardian night, filled with hot water, doing quiet and essential work. Now it's been given a new purpose — paired with an Art Deco opaque etched glass flame shade (known as a Flambeau or Empire torch shade) and rewired as a table lamp that's as warm in character as it once was in function.
The copper will age beautifully over time, deepening in tone and patina. Or polish it to a bright finish — it looks equally at home either way. This is a lamp that rewards looking at closely.
Each 'Empire Bed Warmer' carries its own unique numbered it's a light tag — a one-of-a-kind piece.
