Quirky unusual “In The Groove” pendant ceiling light, made from an HMV Beethoven symphony 78 record, complete with bulb and ceiling

Quirky “In The Groove” pendant ceiling light — HMV Beethoven symphony 78 record, complete with ceiling rose and bulb

The Beethoven symphonies were written to fill grand concert halls — but there’s something pleasing about shrinking one down to the size of a pendant light. This HMV 78 record carries a Beethoven symphony in its grooves, and now it carries something else entirely: a warm, characterful glow for your home.

All the records I use are interesting but not rare. I like to think I’ve kept the integrity of this 78, carrying out the least possible work on the record — it remains recognisably itself, just illuminated.

The light features an antique copper ES lampholder and comes complete with a retro 8 Watt Crown bronze LED bulb, an extra long 1.5m black PVC cable, and a black ceiling rose with copper cord grip and fixings.

Width: 30cm | Depth: 19cm (including bulb) | Cable: Black PVC, 1.5m | PAT tested
