A Beethoven symphony is not a small thing — it’s an event, a journey, sometimes an argument with the universe. And yet here it is, pressed into a 78 rpm record and turned into a pendant light. There’s something wonderfully absurd and quietly brilliant about that transformation, which is exactly the spirit this light brings to a room.

All the records I use are interesting but not rare. I like to think I’ve kept the integrity of this 78, carrying out the least possible work on the record — it remains recognisably itself, just illuminated.

The light features an antique copper ES lampholder and comes complete with a retro 8 Watt Crown bronze LED bulb, an extra long 1.5m black PVC cable, and a black ceiling rose with copper cord grip and fixings.
