'The Light Wave' Hairdryer Table Lamp
From the salon chair to your living room — with style to spare.
The base of this table lamp is a genuine Bakelite 'Ormond' electric handheld hairdryer, made in England by the Ormond Engineering Company Ltd. between 1935 and 1955. It's been set on a heavy black Bakelite base with large brass dome nuts and rubber feet — solid, considered, and beautifully period.
A dimmer switch — with a small red LED so you can find it in the dark — lets you coax a warm, soft orange glow from the vintage 60w squirrel cage bulb .
Each Light Wave carries its own unique numbered tag.
