The 'Bouffant' Hairdryer Table lamp
The 'Bouffant' — 1950s Hairdryer Table Lamp
Born in the 1950s — the age of optimism, chrome, and curves — this Bylock hairdryer is a shining example of mid-century design at its most confident. Bylock Electric produced their first electric hairdryer in 1945; this model is a remodelled chrome version of the late 1940s Bakelite original, and it's every bit as striking today as it was then.
Now set on a complementary chrome base and rewired as a fully functioning table lamp, it comes complete with a dimmer switch — easily located at night by its small red LED — allowing you to dial in anything from a warm, atmospheric orange glow to full brightness through the beautifully structured vintage filament bulb.
Each 'Bouffant' carries its own unique numbered it's a light tag — a one-of-a-kind piece.
