Golden age of British rail travel table lamp/desk lamp
Golden Age of British Rail Travel — Table Lamp
This early 20th-century railway signal lamp is a genuine piece of British rail history — steel-bodied with a copper oil container base, built to guide trains through the night and now repurposed to light your home.
The lamp has a hinged door with a circular cutout on one side, and a large fixed circular cutout on the other — both retaining their original scratched glass panels. A single open cutout sits at the top, with a brass carrying handle above. The filler cap is marked BR(W) for the Western Region, and the wick control knob bears the maker's name: Sherwoods Bham Ltd (now fixed in position).
Aged brass feet have been added to complement the warm, period character of the piece. Each lamp carries its own unique numbered it's a light tag.
