The 'Sundial' Camera Light, Quirky Table Lamp/Desk lamp
The 'Sundial' Camera Light, Quirky Table Lamp/Desk lamp
This natty little ‘Sundial’ cine camera has defied all efforts to keep it in the attic and has emerged into the light as a wonderful piece of funky lighting.
The original design of this cine camera was evolved by the Bell & Howell Co. of Chicago U.S.A.
It was introduced into Britain in the 1950s and was manufactured by the Cine and Photographic Division of Rank Precision Industries Ltd.
The special feature of this model is the innovative 'Sundial' exposure system - basically a series of coloured icons, each icon representing how sunny or dull it is.
I have set this quirky Camera Light on a 1940s cast iron base and the frosted glass shade holds a spherical gold Calex bulb.
