1930s Multi-colour 'Brush' design Flycatcher glass bowl ceiling lightHanging glass bowl ceiling light shades became popular during the1920s through to the 1950s They earned the name ‘Flycatcher’ for obvious reasons.
These Flycatcher lampshades come alive when lit, their abstract multi-coloured patterns were ahead of their time.
I have carefully restored these salvaged lights to their former glory and fitted them with new components; chains, glass bowl hooks, 3-hook ceiling fitting, wooden pattress, lamp holder and coloured flex. They have been tested for safety.
Each one is original and has been used, showing normal signs of wear and tear.
Each ‘Flycatcher’ lampshade comes with everything you need to easily convert your existing ceiling fitting. Wiring should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
1. The wooden pattress should be securely fitted to the ceiling by a qualified electrician..
2. Wiring of the 3-hook ceiling plate and lamp holder should be carried out by a qualified electrician. Please Note: The 3-hook ceiling plate will need to be earthed using the supplied earth tag and nut.
3. The bulb should not touch the bowl (approx 5cm away) and cable should be secured with the plastic grub screw.
